BLISS, Idaho (AP) — A slow-moving train crashed into a Jeep Cherokee that was stuck on the tracks, but the driver escaped unharmed.
The Twin Falls Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1IpQVEM ) that Friday's crash happened near milepost 171 on U.S. Highway 30 at about 3:45 p.m.
Gooding County Sheriff's Deputy Matt Miliron says the train was moving slow because of heavy fog in the area.
The Jeep's front tires were stuck on the track. The vehicle was totaled in the crash. The sheriff says the train wasn't damaged.
The driver, Robert Halligan, was uninjured because he got out of the vehicle when he heard the train approaching. Halligan was driving in the snow where there was no road or no railroad crossing.
