SUITLAND, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a driver was killed when the semitractor-trailer he was driving fell from a Capital Beltway overpass onto a parkway in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C.

Maryland State Police say the driver lost control on the outer loop of the beltway early Friday. The truck, carrying paper products, crashed through a guardrail and landed on the Suitland Parkway below.

Prince George's County Fire & EMS officials say the driver has died. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Eastbound lanes of Suitland Parkway were closed after the incident. There were no closures reported on the beltway ringing the nation's capital, but an outer loop exit ramp to the Suitland Parkway was blocked.
