NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A recently retired Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals judge has been appointed to the faculty of Belmont University College of Law in Nashville.
According to a news release from the courts, Judge Jerry Smith will teach appellate practice at Belmont starting next fall. Smith also will continue teaching at Nashville School of Law. He has been an instructor there since 2002 teaching criminal law, criminal procedure and criminal constitutional law.
Smith holds a juris doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law and also received his undergraduate degree from UT. He was appointed to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 1995 and retired from the bench in 2014.
