SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) — A judge has refused to release a 15-year-old boy accused of bringing a loaded gun to a Saginaw school.
The boy appeared in court Tuesday, a day after police found a gun hidden in ceiling tiles in a bathroom at Thompson Middle School.
The teen's attorney, Libby Kelly Dill, urged Judge Barbara Meter to release him to his family, perhaps with an electronic tether, but she declined, noting the condition of the home and other factors. The boy will stay at a juvenile detention center.
Another hearing is set for Nov. 3.
