CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A man police say helped bury a woman's body in a cornfield has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

KTVB-TV reports (http://goo.gl/IMkk3b ) Jose Cruz Flores was sentenced Monday for his role in the murder of Selena Thomas. Flores will be eligible for parole after one year in prison.

The 25-year-old previously pleaded guilty to destroying evidence and failing to notify authorities of a dead body.

Police say Flores was not involved in killing Thomas, but said he helped his uncle, 49-year-old Alfredo Martinez, get rid of her body south of Melba.

Flores apologized in court to Thomas' family members.

Martinez is serving 20 years to life in prison for beating Thomas to death.

Two other men charged in this case are scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
