FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) — A solider has been charged in the shooting death of another soldier at a home in southeastern Georgia.

WSAV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1N7huEW ) that Peter Petri has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct in the death of Spec. Hunter Kelly. The fatal shooting occurred in Long County on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Kelly of Sparks, Nevada was a cavalry scout and entered active duty in August 2013. His awards and decorations include the National Defense and Global War on Terror service medals along with the Army Service Ribbon.

Petri was also a cavalry scout and entered active duty in February 2012 then was assigned to the unit in November 2014. The 25-year-old Petri deployed to Afghanistan in 2012.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Long County authorities are investigating the matter.
