SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials with the Utah Food Bank are warning 10,000 donors that their personal information could have been exposed after someone hacked into the organization's website.
Food bank officials recently discovered an unauthorized person may have accessed names, addresses, emails, and credit and debit card information for those who donated through the website from Oct. 8, 2013 through July 16, 2015.
Ginette Bott with the Utah Food Bank told the Deseret News (http://bit.ly/1FcC1QE ) that cyber security experts helped fix a weakness in the website's security after the breach was discovered in July.
Bott says the organization is notifying affected donors and offering them a year's worth of free identity protection and credit monitoring.
