HURRICANE, Utah (AP) — Hurricane police say a 51-year-old woman is dead and a fellow driver is injured after two vehicles collided in an intersection.

Authorities say Nani Furse died of her injuries after the crash Friday evening on West State Street.

Police say the Furse was driving a Pontiac Bonneville into the intersection at the same time that a 36-year-old man was driving a GMC truck into the intersection.

The two vehicles collided, and both drivers were taken to the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. Police say the man was in stable condition.

Furse's family told police they were grateful for the passersby who stopped and for the first responders who helped her after the crash.
