LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 31-year-old Las Vegas man killed during a weekend shooting in an alley west of the Las Vegas Strip that left another man wounded and police searching for their assailant.

The Clark County coroner said Tuesday that a cause of death for Joel Sanchez will await toxicology results in several weeks.

Police say Sanchez and another man were on foot when they were shot by someone in an light blue Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck about before 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 4600 block of West Twain Avenue.

The wounded man was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that weren't believed to be life-threatening.

Police called the slaying the 64th homicide in the Las Vegas area this year.
