MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A Moscow woman faces up to eight years in prison after being sentenced for her part in the death of a man who had been under her care.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1RQoJ1X ) 23-year-old Lindsey Winter was sentenced Monday to two to eight years in prison, with retained jurisdiction.
Winter must complete a six-month program under direction from the Idaho Department of Corrections. Upon completion, she will either be released on probation or ordered to serve the full sentence.
In November 2013, 67-year-old Lee Pohrman, was found dead in Winter's residence. His cause of death was ruled as starvation.
Winter pleaded guilty in April to an exploitation charge as part of a plea deal.
A state prosecutor said an investigation found Winter hadn't been a good candidate for probation.
