PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) — A 17-year-old girl is dead after a rollover crash ejected her from the passenger seat of a Mazda SUV late Thursday.

KSNV reports (http://bit.ly/1eMkSqu ) Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says the Mazda was driving south on State Route 160 about 10 miles from the Nevada border near Pahrump when the crash occurred.

The Mazda served left, overcorrected to the right and veered left again, causing the rollover and ejecting the passenger. She was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

The 17-year-old girl driving the car was secured in the vehicle and isn't suspected of being impaired. Both girls are from Las Vegas.

A Hyundai SUV struck the Mazda after the rollover. Its occupants were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
