OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — A judge has ruled that an Alameda County jury will have the final say on whether a mentally ill man is competent enough to stand trial for a 2012 massacre at a small nursing college.

One Goh is charged with murdering six former classmates and a receptionist at Oikos University, a religious school with a nursing program that caters to Korean nationals. Authorities say the 46-year-old former nursing student planned the attack at the school after a tuition dispute.

Goh has been treated at Napa State Hospital since a judge in January 2013 declared him not mentally fit to stand trial.

The Oakland Tribune reports (http://bayareane.ws/1eEhj5x ) Friday that the competency trial is scheduled for September.

Goh has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, severe depression, and a delusional disorder.
