LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former teacher at a private girls' high school in Los Angeles accused of sexually abusing a student is facing 10 additional sex crimes involving a second 16-year-old student.
The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/1QhkcXi ) that 47-year-old Joseph Thomas Koetters had pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an alleged sexual relationship with a student between June 2000 and June 2002 when another girl reported she had a sexual relationship with him in 2004.
He pleaded not guilty to the additional charges at a hearing Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Koetters was an English teacher at the Marlborough School in Hancock Park when he reportedly initiated the relationships.
His attorney declined to comment on the additional charges.
