FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A leaking steam line caused a scare on the North Dakota State University campus when it was initially reported as a chemistry lab spill.

Firefighters and hazardous materials experts responded to the scene Sunday afternoon after a graduate student reported a liquid spill on the floor and a vapor cloud around a storage closet that held acids. Campus police evacuated the building.

Investigators eventually determined the problem to be the leaking steam line in a wall. The steam lines were shut down and the vapor cloud disappeared.
