CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed a Sparks casino executive to fill a vacancy on the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Sandoval announced Monday that Michonne Ascuaga will take the seat previously held by Joe Brown, who announced his resignation from the board this month. She'll start immediately and fill out the rest of Brown's term, which ends in April 2017.
