NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence in a North Las Vegas wreck that killed a motorcyclist.

Troy Marez of North Las Vegas is accused of failing to yield to an oncoming motorcycle when he attempted to make a turn at an intersection Saturday afternoon.

The motorcyclist, 26-year-old Derrick Singleton of North Las Vegas, died after being rushed to a hospital.

Police say Marez fled the scene in his SUV to a nearby neighborhood, where he was later arrested without incident. He escaped injury in the accident.

He was booked into jail on charges of DUI, failing to yield and duty to stop at the scene of an accident.
