LIBERTY, Mo. (AP) — Eight suburban Kansas City boys have been suspended from school because of nude pictures of female schoolmates found on their cellphones.

WDAF-TV (http://bit.ly/1FmAXwQ) reports the Liberty High School boys who received the pictures got suspensions ranging from two to 10 days, while the girls who sent them were verbally reprimanded but not suspended.

A district spokesman says the photos were passed around in text messages and posted on Twitter and an Instagram page, but have since been removed.

In a written statement to WDAF, the school district said such incidents are reminders that students need to use good judgment when posting anything on digital devices.

Missouri State Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Collin Stosberg says the incident shows how nude photos can go viral and get into the wrong hands.
