TWO RIVERS, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say five students on a field trip were hurt when a tree fell on them at a Wisconsin nature center.
WBAY-TV (http://bit.ly/19L4NOm ) reports the students were sitting on bench at Woodland Dunes Nature Center in Two Rivers when a willow fell Wednesday afternoon. The tree was 20 to 30 feet tall.
The students were on a field trip with Bethany Lutheran School in Manitowoc. All five were taken to a hospital in Two Rivers. The principal of Bethany Lutheran says four students were released within hours and a fifth is being held for observation.
Rescuers had trouble getting to the victims because they were at least three-quarters of a mile from the main part of the nature center.
