IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Census Bureau says that Idaho's overall population increased by 1.3 percent last year.
The agency's estimates show that most of the 22,000 new Idahoans moved into urban areas, which are home to roughly two-thirds of the state's residents.
The Post Register newspaper in Idaho Falls, Idaho reports (http://bit.ly/1D7NtRy) that the growth is the ninth largest percentage increase in the nation.
Bob Fick from the state's Department of Labor says that the move to urban areas has been a gradual shift, prompted largely by people moving into the cities for work.
