CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — A University of Central Arkansas student living in a refurbished bread truck says of all the things his mother says she worried about, him voluntarily becoming homeless wasn't one of them.
But the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/18uw32W ) reports 21-year-old student Branden Blume isn't homeless. His home just has wheels.
Blume had lived in a university-owned apartment, paying $350 a month, but decided to experience what he calls sustainable living.
He now pays $100 a month to a Conway homeowner so he can park the truck in the man's yard and connect it to his electricity.
He said the bread truck, which he purchased off Craigslist for $2,500, stays parked majority of the time, although he occasionally takes it for a spin to the store or to school.
