FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A business school dean at an Arkansas college is a finalist for the same position at Texas A&M university.

Eli Jones has been the dean of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville's Sam M. Walton College of Business since July 2012. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1M1oZrY ) reports 53-year-old Jones is the only candidate Texas A&M planned to conduct an interview with on its campus.

In January, Jones sent a note to the Arkansas school's faculty and staff members describing his interest in the Texas A&M position.

Jones earned three degrees from Texas A&M University. He also has family in and around College Station, Texas, where the university is located.

Jones earns more than $392,000 each year. At Texas A&M University, the previous business school dean earned $337,500.
