LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities are identifying a Las Vegas man killed early Saturday in a hit-and-run accident on the Strip near the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino.

The Clark County coroner says 34-year-old J. Jesus Andrade was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard in a crosswalk near the corner of Four Seasons Drive when he was hit by a white sedan.

Police are searching for the driver, who witnesses say fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 702-828-3128 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

The death continues a series of pedestrian deaths since the start of the year.

Las Vegas police announced Friday they are stepping up patrols for drivers who are distracted or driving under the influence.
