CHICAGO (AP) — The latest winter storm could spoil the party.
An unusually slow-moving storm crawling into the Midwest is expected to be the most widespread of the season and could make driving to Super Bowl house parties a bad idea.
The most intense period of snow in the Midwest is forecast to hit tonight, right around game time. Potential wind gusts of up to 40 mph are expected, so drivers could face terrible visibility and snarling drifts from up to a foot of snow
It's eventually headed to New England which is just recovering from last week's storm. The National Weather Service says between 8 and 14 inches of snow could fall in parts of New England beginning around midnight, with more in higher elevations.
Another foot or so could spell particular trouble for snow-clearing operations in Boston's narrow streets.
