LYNDON, Vt. (AP) — Vermont's Lyndon State College has a new academic dean.

Lyndon's professor of atmospheric sciences Nolan Atkins assumed the position of interim dean of academic affairs on Jan. 19. He will serve in the position for 18 months.

Atkins will guide all areas of academic affairs, including academic support, curriculum development, academic services and administration, the library/learning commons, the registrar's office, and institutional research.

Lyndon State College President Joe Bertolino says Atkins brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the position — skills that will serve students and faculty well.
