SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake County officials temporarily closed off eastbound traffic up northern Utah's Millcreek Canyon on Thursday after a snow plow skidded across slick roads and got stuck in the snow.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says officials closed the canyon to eastbound travel around 11 a.m. while working to free the plow.

Hoyal says those traveling westbound were still allowed to drive down and out of the canyon.

The eastbound lanes reopened around 1 p.m. after the plow was freed.
