FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Law enforcement officials will have an increased presence at two Frederick County schools after rumors of threats that have so far been unsubstantiated rumors.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Sunday that rumors have been circulating among students and on social media sites about threats to the Tuscarora and Frederick High Schools.

The Sheriff's Office says that there were rumors Friday at Tuscarora High School of a potential shooting incident, but there was no specific source of credible information. The Sheriff's Office said officers were present at the school Friday as a precaution.

The Sheriff's Office says it and police got a call Sunday from one individual about Frederick High School.

There will be an increased law enforcement presence at both schools as a precaution.
