LAS VEGAS (AP) — A chain-reaction crash involving five motorcycles in Clark County has killed a Las Vegas teenager and seriously injured another.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says a group of five motorcyclists was northbound on State Route 160 on Friday afternoon when one of them allowed the front of his cycle to strike the side of another.

He says the impact touched off a series of collisions that caused at least four of the cycles to overturn and one of them to strike an oncoming pickup truck.

One of the motorcyclists, 18-year-old Kevin Rubio, died after he struck an overturned cycle and was ejected.

The motorcyclist accused of triggering the collisions, an 18-year-old male from Las Vegas, was listed in stable condition Saturday at a Las Vegas hospital.

The extent of injuries of the other cyclists was not immediately released.
