SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — A 27-year-old woman has been arrested in what police have called the ambush-style shooting death of a South Salt Lake man.
Whitney Marie Conner of South Jordan was booked Tuesday into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
She's accused of arranging a drug deal in South Salt Lake that ended with the Dec. 4 death of 32-year-old Orlando Roybal.
Police say she entered a vehicle with Roybal and a female driver inside, and a gunman shot Roybal multiple times after the drug deal was completed.
Roybal was taken to a hospital, where he died. The driver escaped injury.
Police say multiple suspects approached the vehicle along with the gunman and they're still searching for them.
