MOORE, Okla. (AP) — Police in Moore say they have taken a juvenile suspect into custody in connection with a threat that led to the evacuation of students and faculty members from Moore High School.

Moore Police Department spokesman Jeremy Lewis said Friday that students and faculty were evacuated before noon and relocated to a nearby church in the community located south of Oklahoma City. Officials say the school has been cleared and students and faculty were allowed to return to classes.

Authorities in Moore say they have taken a juvenile suspect into custody in connection with the threat. They say the suspect claimed the threat was a joke.

Lewis says authorities believed the evacuation was necessary after officials received a detailed threat to students. Lewis declined to disclose how the threat was received.
