MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (AP) — A man and woman who jumped from a balcony and fell about two stories to escape an apartment building fire in southwest Idaho have been hospitalized.
Mountain Home Fire Chief Alan Bermensolo tells KTVB-TV (http://bit.ly/1weYKed ) that investigators are looking into the possibility the fire that started at about 4 a.m. Thursday was intentionally set.
He says witnesses reported a man who had a vendetta against another person.
The man who jumped suffered burns to his back, and the woman sustained injuries to her legs in escaping the fire at the Day Meadows apartment building.
They were taken to St. Luke's Elmore Medical Center in Mountain Home.
Bermensolo says everyone else in the building escaped unharmed. Numbers of people involved weren't provided.
Officials say the building is uninhabitable.
