COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Two organizations critical of charter schools have launched a website that they say provides Ohioans side-by-side comparisons of their traditional public school districts and all the public and private charter schools operating there.

Critics say data presented on the site, knowyourcharter(dot)com, is skewed to overplay charter schools' negative financial impact on traditional districts.

A spokesman for the pro-charter group My School, My Choice says the site contains false statements about charter schools so site data can't be trusted to be accurate.

The site's sponsors — the Ohio Education Association, the state's largest teachers' union, and the liberal think tank Innovation Ohio — contend the site doesn't take sides in the debate, but draws data from the Ohio Department of Education and makes it more user-friendly.
