LAS VEGAS (AP) — One man is dead and another man was questioned and released without being charged after a fatal shooting in a parking lot across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Las Vegas police say the man who was shot argued with a man in another vehicle just before 3 a.m. Monday in a strip mall parking lot near Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue.

Police say the man who was shot got out of his vehicle and pointed a firearm at occupants of the other vehicle before a passenger in that vehicle pulled out a gun and fired one shot.

The names of the dead man and the shooter weren't immediately made public.

Police say the Clark County district attorney will decide whether to file charges.
