CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — Southeast Missouri State University is looking for a new president with the announcement by Kenneth Dobbins that he plans to retire at the end of June 2015.
Dobbins has led the Cape Girardeau school since July 1999 and announced his pending retirement Monday. Southeast Missouri State officials say Dobbins is currently Missouri's longest-serving president of a four-year public college or university.
Doyle Privett, president of the school's Board of Regents, said the panel will appoint an advisory committee and work with an executive search firm to help find Dobbins' replacement.
Dobbins said his plans for retirement include doing some consulting work for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities' Penson Center for Professional Development.
