SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say two drivers are dead following a head-on crash on U.S. 89 in southern Utah.

The Utah Highway Patrol says the crash occurred near Big Water in Kane County not far from the Arizona border shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/VZdfTb ) that a northbound sedan driven by 53-year-old Jay Russell of Page, Arizona, collided with a southbound sedan driven by 78-year-old Richard Nutt of Douglas, Georgia.

The patrol says the men were the only occupants of their vehicles.
