PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. (AP) — As the craft-beer business booms, Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks will begin offering a minor in craft-beer studies this fall.

The college already offers courses in culinary arts, hospitality and business. The new minor is designed to prepare students for careers in craft brewing.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports (http://bit.ly/1pa4nRT ) that Paul Smiths students who sign up for the minor will take business courses in management, marketing, advertising and promotion. The students also will study brewing and the business of beer.

More than 2,700 craft breweries were in operation in 2013, selling 15.6 million barrels of beer.
