DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Public Schools will hold a recruitment fair for prospective students who haven't yet selected a high school.
The district says the fair will be Thursday at the University of Michigan-Detroit Center. All high schools accepting enrollment for available seats in the fall will be represented.
University of Michigan representatives will also present on topics such as new enrichment programs offered to DPS students and college scholarships.
Seventeen DPS high school programs will showcase their academic and career-track offerings. The Academy of the Americas will present on a dual-immersion bilingual 9th grade program, to be located in southwest Detroit.
DPS launched a campaign on July 31 to try to retain all current students and gain new enrollees.
