ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A Las Vegas man convicted in a southern Utah prostitution case was sentenced Wednesday to 180 days in jail.

As part of the sentence, Judge G. Michael Westfall ruled Leroy Haley can be released from the Utah county jail early if Nevada officials agree to supervise him.

Haley pleaded guilty in June to human trafficking, two counts of exploiting a prostitute and assault by a prisoner. He was arrested last August in a prostitution sting at a St. George hotel.

Prosecutors say Haley and 20-year-old Francis Mary Uhrhan of Las Vegas brought a 17-year-old to Utah and made her perform sex acts for money. The teenage girl told police she felt forced to perform the acts because Haley had physically abused her.

In addition to the jail time, Haley must pay $1,500 in fines, obtain a high school diploma or GED certificate, and meet other requirements.

Haley's parents attended his sentencing Wednesday and testified that their son helps the community by working with kids and has family members to support him.

Uhrhan pleaded guilty in January to prostitution and exploiting a prostitute, according to The Spectrum of St. George (http://bit.ly/1tuXrGu ).

She was sentenced serve a year in jail but was released early in June to probation officials in Nevada, where she is being supervised.
