SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police have arrested more than 50 people suspected in a drug ring operating in Salt Lake and Utah counties.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says in a statement Tuesday that over the past week, officers have arrested 11 suspected drug dealers and 40 suspected drug customers.
Hoyal says police seized six pounds of heroin with a street value of about $120,000. They also seized 11 vehicles, $82,000 in cash and 12 firearms.
Detectives from the Unified Police Department in Salt Lake County and the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force worked on the joint investigation.
Hoyal says the investigation began several weeks ago.
