EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois teacher who resigned after being accused of sexually assaulting two children is now charged with 14 more counts after investigators say they've identified seven more victims.

Thirty-six-year-old Jason Ehlers of Bethalto was charged earlier this month with four sexual assault counts involving two children.

But Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons says investigators identified additional victims. That has resulted in Ehlers being charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault, indecent solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child.

Gibbons says Ehlers had been a Triad School District and Bethalto schools teacher before resigning after originally being charged.

Gibbons says investigators concluded the alleged victims weren't his students.

Online court records don't show whether Ehlers has an attorney. His home telephone has been disconnected.
