TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is scheduled to headline a rally in Tulsa for U.S. Senate candidate T.W. Shannon.
Cruz will appear with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah Thursday at the Green Country Event Center.
All three previously endorsed Shannon, who is among the Republicans seeking the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn at the end of the current Congress.
Cruz is a favorite of tea party conservatives and a potential 2016 presidential candidate.
Shannon faces seven GOP candidates in the race to replace Coburn. U.S. Rep. James Lankford and former state Sen. Randy Brogdon are also in the race as are three Democrats and an independent.
The GOP primary is June 24.
