NYACK, N.Y. (AP) — Nyack Hospital in New York's Rockland County is opening a behavior health center where patients can get mental and medical health care services in one location.
The Journals News (http://lohud.us/1gFSy2O ) reports that the center will open Tuesday as the county closes its in-patient mental health unit to save money.
The new center has 26 beds bolted to the floor, recessed shelves and covered lighting to ensure patient safety on the locked-down ward.
Nyack Hospital led tours of the center following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.
