LEHI, Utah (AP) — Friends and family are mourning two fathers who died after being hit by a truck in Lehi while biking to work.

Police say 39-year-old Riverton resident Bryan Byrge and 35-year-old Herriman resident John Coons likely died instantly after they were hit about 6 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Redwood Road and 2100 North.

The 41-year-old truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Friends tell KSL-TV the two were family men who loved the outdoors and worked with youth in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Byrge is survived by his wife and four children, while Coons is survived by a wife and three children.
