(AP) - Here are some of the actions that California state government is taking to reduce water use by 20 percent.
_ Department of Transportation is cutting back irrigation along California roadways.
_ New, non-essential landscaping projects will be stopped.
_ Washing of many state vehicles is banned, except for health or safety reasons.
_ Contracts for water-intensive window washing at state buildings are being canceled.
_ Signs in state buildings emphasize smart water use in bathrooms, kitchens.
