FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — A 41-year-old man who was serving as a safety officer during a demolition derby has died after a vehicle fell onto him.
Davis County sheriff's officials say the incident happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday in an outdoor arena at the county fairgrounds.
Investigators say it appears Hooper resident Bren Ewing was checking on a disabled vehicle when its weight shifted and it fell on him.
Rescue crews removed him from the wreckage and he was airlifted to McKay Dee Hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
