LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada officials say casino revenues shot up more than 14 percent in June thanks to a banner month on the Las Vegas Strip. The state Gaming Control Board said today Strip casinos pulled in 22 percent more than the same month a year ago. Downtown Vegas casino revenues of rose 12 percent; Reno casino revenues fell 3 percent; South Lake Tahoe casinos brought in 2 percent less.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Floyd Mayweather Jr. can now organize and market fights in Nevada all on his own. The Nevada Athletic Commission has voted to grant the undefeated welterweight champion a promoter's license. The 37-year-old Mayweather has previously worked with fight promoters Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions in his televised matchups in Las Vegas.

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) — For the second time in two months, Washoe County sheriff's deputies have had to rescue one of the boats they use for search and rescues at Lake Tahoe. Deputies say they're trying to figure out what caused the boat to sink Wednesday just off the shore of Incline Village. The boat is usually stationed at Pyramid Lake but was moved to Tahoe as a replacement for the other boat.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Online voting is underway for the fourth and final medallion commemorating Nevada's Sesquicentennial. One design features Hoover Dam. Others show the Great Basin National Park and Lake Tahoe. A final design includes a cowboy on horseback, a playing card, dice and a poker chip.
