AMSTERDAM (AP) — Dutch professional cycling team Team Belkin is looking for a new title sponsor after Belkin announced it is withdrawing its backing at the end of 2014.

Team managing director Richard Plugge says in a statement Tuesday the decision by the American electronics firm was "unfortunate."

He says the team is already in contact with potential replacements and still has "sponsorship opportunities open" for this summer's Tour de France.

Belkin became the team's sponsor in mid-2013 after Rabobank ended its longtime sponsorship of the team in 2012 in the wake of doping scandals that have dogged the sport and former team members.
