(AP) - SEEING NO EVIL: Half the world's top exporters are doing little or nothing at all to investigate or prosecute multinational companies found using bribes in foreign markets, an anti-corruption watchdog says.
THE ENFORCERS: Transparency International says only the U.S., Germany, Britain and Switzerland actively enforced the Anti-Bribery Convention agreed upon by 40 major exporting countries. It prohibits bribes to win foreign contracts and licenses, or to dodge taxes and local laws.
LOOKING AWAY: The watchdog said 20 countries that together account for about 27 percent of the world's exports, including Japan, Brazil, South Korea and the Netherlands, showed little or no enforcement.
