Clark County residents could see their sales taxes rise next year if officials approve a proposal aimed at expanding the police force. The county commission is are expected to vote today on the so-called More Cops proposal, which would raise the county's sales tax rate from 8.1 percent to 8.15 percent. The Las Vegas Sun reports the latest version would allow Las Vegas police to hire another 133 officers, and would provide money for dozens more officers in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite and Boulder City.
