CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston police say the body of an elderly woman reported missing from an assisted living facility has been recovered from a nearby pond.

Charleston County Deputy Coroner Sara Senn tells local media outlets that the body of 90-year-old Bonnie Walker was found in a small pond near the Brookdale Senior Living Center on Wednesday afternoon.

Walker had been reported missing earlier in the day.

The investigation is continuing and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
