MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson has married a biotechnology entrepreneur who is running for his congressional seat at the same time he is running for the U.S. Senate.

Grayson wed Dr. Dena Minning on Sunday in Melbourne Beach. She is taking his last name.

Grayson spokeswoman Brook Hines says the small ceremony was attended by family and friends.

Minning is running for the Orlando-area congressional seat Grayson holds, as he is running to take the U.S. Senate seat now occupied by Marco Rubio.

The congressional race already is crowded, and it includes Grayson's former district manager, Susannah Randolph.

Grayson posted a beachside wedding photo of the couple on Twitter with a quote from Maya Angelou: "Yet if we are bold, love strikes away the chains of fear from our souls."
